Welcome to the official opening of the Tahini Factory

Nineveh SEED
Last week we celebrated the opening of a Tahini factory in the Assyrian-majority Christian town of Bartella. We invite you to watch this short film and join us in the celebrations.
The factory provides jobs for 6 young people from different ethno-religious backgrounds.

We want to thank The Highway One Trust for funding this project with Mosaic Middle East. We also wish to thank our implementing partners and local NGO, Friends of Youth Forum.

Our mission is to bring hope, help and healing in the Middle East
One of our primary focal areas is humanitarian relief and development programmes for Iraqis regardless of their religion, but with an emphasis on the needs of disadvantaged minorities and communities. Our distinction is our grassroots engagement as an NGO. We not only listen, but we give a voice to the people we serve and ensure that this drives our response to their needs.

Our 2020 annual conference included delegates of different ethno-religious backgrounds from the Nineveh Plain and Sinjar including NGO workers from Christian, Yazidi and Shabak communities and local business owners. One of the key points they raised was that Mosaic Middle East are on the ground, engaging with local people, communities and leaders, listening and respond to needs.
They said: “Most of the INGO and big organisations and donors, don’t listen to people, they are just copying the projects from other countries without adjusting it to the Nineveh Plain. Some of them have their money and are in a rush to spend it. So, they will go for direct implementation without consultation with the local NGOs and the people who know what works and what does not. In the end, the result is clear; total failure”.
Our 2021 Conference held in December, in partnership with The Kurdistan Regional Government and UN Women focussed on the Livelihood and Psychosocial Needs for Women from Nineveh Plains & Sinjar. Over the next few weeks, we look forward to sharing key findings from this ground-breaking conference and how Mosaic Middle East is responding the findings.
We ask you to please join us in supporting our mission through prayer and donations if you are able. We also welcome funding from businesses, Trusts and Foundations, so if you know of any that may be able to help support this work, please get in touch with us.
