Urgent message from Mosaic Middle East CEO Mike Simpson re Iraq:
"What is happening in Iraq and Iran could be very damaging to our charitable work. I spoke about this in a radio interview at the weekend. But then, if we are serious about our mission, we could see it as a challenge to adapt and respond with Christian love, compassion and peace-making. How exactly? Well that is another matter. Your prayers and support are as ever vital to our success in 'bringing hope, help and healing to the Middle East'. Below are some thought-provoking verses in the context of our work. Take courage from them."

A Site of Interest in the News
Media reports indicate (RUDAW) that recent missile attacks have hit near to refugee camps where we provided toys for the refugee children this Christmas. The Bardarash camp provides shelter for over 13,000 in the dusty desert region of Northern Iraq. We provide photographs here for your thought and reflection of the effect of recent events on the local people.
Verses for Thought and Reflection
At this time we want to share some thoughts on peace (without comment)
"Make every effort to live in peace with everyone"
"Turn from evil... seek peace and pursue it"
"Make sure nobody pays back wrong for wrong"
"Peacemakers who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness"
"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone"
"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification"
"Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it"
"Do not repay anyone evil for evil"
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"

Good News Nonetheless
The need for good work in Iraq is more urgent and vital than ever. And we do have good news to share.
It may be easy to feel powerless in the face of such global forces at work. But at grassroots level, working together for peace does happen in Iraq. In a country riven by sectarianism, Christian and Muslim doctors work side-by-side to treat the sick regardless of age, gender or religious affiliation. New businesses bring employment and opportunity for displaced peoples on the Nineveh Plain. St George's Church provides Christian community, healthcare, childcare and more in central Baghdad.
Browse on for some brilliant photos from the work on the ground across Iraq. It is all made possible through the generous donations of people like you. Please consider a donation towards our work at this difficult time.
And thank you from the whole Mosaic Middle East Team.
A New Chicken Farm on the Nineveh Plain
Mosaic Middle East worked on the ground with an Iraqi charity Ghasin Alzaiton to deliver this Chicken Farm - the largest in the whole area. It has created jobs for young people. The project improves the local economy and ultimately we hope to encourage former residents to return. Through this project we bring hope back to young people.
New Jumpers in Jordan
It's good to know that we can bring some love to the Middle East at this time. We support over 6,000 Christian Iraqi refugees in Jordan. They lost everything when they fled Iraq and ISIS. We provide food vouchers, medicines, accommodation support and much more. Here are 3 children who were able to buy new clothes with extra vouchers provided by our team this Christmas. Love it!

St George's and the Clinic
The hugely important medical care at the Clinic has benefitted over 1,800 people each month in September, October and November 2019. Over 700 children were seen at the Clinic between September and November. Many adults attend for general health whilst the centre also provides for gynaecological treatments, antenatal treatments and early life care to mention a few. Others get vital access to care for chronic conditions such as arthritis or asthma. See our recent update for more on the Vital Work of St George's and the Clinic.
Please help us to give hope to those who need it, especially at this time.
