Your Legacy
A gift in your Will can bring hope, help and healing to people in the Middle East for years to come, creating an enduring legacy.
By remembering Mosaic Middle East in your Will you can transform lives; bringing hope, help and healing to refugee families well into the future.
Any gift in your Will is invaluable. Your legacy will enable projects like these to grow:
- The vital work of St George’s Clinic in Baghdad, providing free primary health care to many thousands of poor Iraqis
- Our life-affirming Olive Tree Centres in Jordan, transforming the lives of refugees like Enaam
- Sustainable employment projects such as the Chicken Farm on the Nineveh Plain, bringing hope to people like Raed
- Our vital advocacy work in the UK and elsewhere, standing up for the persecuted and vulnerable minorities of the Middle East
Who can I speak to about this?
If you would like to know more, our team is available to answer any questions or give more information on how this unique gift could make a big difference to the work in the Middle East. Please us on 01730 267673.
Legacy and UK tax
A legacy or bequest can take advantage of the tax privileges that are available to encourage such support for worthy causes. Legacies or bequests to a charity can reduce or eliminate the tax payable on the balance of any estate and are themselves exempt from inheritance tax.
How do I make a will?
Although it is possible to write a will by yourself, it is advisable to use a solicitor as there are various legal formalities you need to follow to make sure that your will is valid. You may need legal advice for more complicated matters. A solicitor can also advise you about how inheritance tax affects you and your loved ones.
Do we need to know your intentions?
We understand that the business of making a will is a very sensitive matter and it is completely voluntary for you to disclose details of your intentions.
Wording for a legacy
If you choose to make your own will, the following wording would be appropriate to leave a legacy:
I hereby bequeath to The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Registered Charity No. 1133576, Mosaic Middle East, PO Box 229, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU32 9DL, the sum of £…… free from all taxes and other fiscal impositions for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be sufficient discharge for my executors.
If you are amending an existing will, all you will need is a simple codicil:
By this codicil to my last Will I hereby bequeath to The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Registered Charity No.
Thank you again for your interest in leaving a legacy to Mosaic Middle East. Your support will ensure that Iraqi Christians and other persecuted minorities continue to receive vital help where it is needed most.
