Education Programmes
Education restores hope, dignity and opportunity for children and young people whose learning has been disrupted by conflict and displacement. Mosaic supports programmes that help students catch up, rebuild confidence and gain the skills they need for a more secure future.
In northern Iraq, our Accelerated Education Programme provides targeted catch-up classes for displaced Yazidi teenagers living in camps, helping them prepare for exams and open up future pathways. In Jordan, education is also central to our Olive Tree Centres, where refugee children and adults access classes in English, Arabic, maths, art and music within safe, welcoming community spaces.

Accelerated Education
In northern Iraq, many Yazidi teenagers are still living in displacement camps years after fleeing the violence of ISIS. Their education has been severely disrupted by conflict, trauma, poverty and the instability of camp life, leaving many young people at risk of falling permanently behind.
Mosaic’s Accelerated Education Programme helps these teenagers catch up on missed learning and prepare for the exams they need to progress. Now in its fourth year, the programme provides targeted classes in English, Arabic, maths and science, alongside the encouragement and support students need to rebuild confidence.
For young people whose futures have been shaped by displacement, education is a vital route to dignity, opportunity and hope. By helping students re-engage with learning and work towards recognised qualifications, the programme opens up pathways for further study, employment and a more secure future.
Olive Tree Centres
Education is a core part of Mosaic’s Olive Tree Programme in Jordan, helping refugee children and adults continue learning despite the disruption of displacement. Many families have faced interrupted schooling, language barriers, financial pressure and uncertainty about the future, making safe and accessible education especially important.
Through the Olive Tree Centres, children and young people can access support in subjects such as English, Arabic, maths, art and music, helping them build confidence, keep up with learning and develop new skills. Adults are also able to take part in classes that strengthen language skills, creativity and confidence, opening up opportunities for greater independence and community connection.
Alongside the teaching itself, the centres provide a welcoming environment where refugees are known, supported and encouraged. For families living far from home, these classes offer not only education, but structure, belonging and hope for the future.
