Live Appeal Every Class Counts
Help children affected by conflict and displacement learn, catch up and build their future.
For children and young people across the Middle East, conflict and displacement have interrupted far more than where they live.
They have interrupted childhoods. Friendships. Routine. And, often, years of education.
This autumn, Mosaic’s Every Class Counts Appeal is raising funds for education programmes in Iraq and Jordan - from preschool provision for refugee children in Amman, to accelerated learning for Yazidi teenagers, and the urgent restoration of damaged schools in Sinjar.
Because every child deserves a safe place to learn, and every class can be a step towards a more hopeful future.

At our Olive Tree Centres in Amman, preschool care gives young refugee children a safe, nurturing place to learn, play and build confidence. Our Accelerated Education Programme helps Yazidi teenagers recover education interrupted by years of conflict and displacement. Specialist teaching supports students to prepare for national exams and opens pathways to further education and employment. In Sinjar, returning families are rebuilding lives in communities where schools and infrastructure still bear the scars of conflict. How Your Church or Group can Help
We would be grateful if you could remember Christians and other vulnerable minorities in the Middle East in your prayers and through donations.
We partner at a local level with Churches in Iraqi's capital Baghdad, and other organisations to offer Christians and those of other minority faiths the support they need to enable them to get on with their lives and create new jobs.
Twin your Church with St. George's
Twin your Church in solidarity and prayer with St. George's Church. In return you will receive a few updates a year, prayer prompts and a certificate of twinning to display in your Church.
Host a Mosaic Meal
Invite your church, friends, or colleagues to a shared meal where everyone brings a dish and makes a donation. As host, you can keep it simple or go full Middle Eastern. We’ve also created poster and invitation templates to help.

Legacy and UK tax
A legacy or bequest can take advantage of the tax privileges that are available to encourage such support for worthy causes. Legacies or bequests to a charity can reduce or eliminate the tax payable on the balance of any estate and are themselves exempt from inheritance tax.
How do I make a will?
Although it is possible to write a will by yourself, it is advisable to use a solicitor as there are various legal formalities you need to follow to make sure that your will is valid. You may need legal advice for more complicated matters. A solicitor can also advise you about how inheritance tax affects you and your loved ones.
Do we need to know your intentions?
We understand that the business of making a will is a very sensitive matter and it is completely voluntary for you to disclose details of your intentions.
Wording for a legacy
If you choose to make your own will, the following wording would be appropriate to leave a legacy:
I hereby bequeath to The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Registered Charity No. 1133576, Mosaic Middle East, PO Box 229, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU32 9DL, the sum of £…… free from all taxes and other fiscal impositions for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be sufficient discharge for my executors.
If you are amending an existing will, all you will need is a simple codicil:
By this codicil to my last Will I hereby bequeath to The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Registered Charity No. 1133576, Mosaic Middle East, PO Box 229, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU32 9DL, the sum of £…… free from all taxes and other fiscal impositions for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be sufficient discharge for my executors.
